At about 12:50pm on a bright and chilly day of November 7th 2018, we received the SS3 students of ST Augustine Seminary Ezzangbo, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. Accompanied with the students was their Rector, Reverend Father Ofulozor. The students were said to be on a one week excursion to various places in other states including Lagos and only 25 of them amongst the graduating students were selected to participate on this free one week field trip before graduation which has been a custom of the school to appreciate the efforts of the students. The rector said the 25 students were chosen based on their excellence in different fields amongst their peers ranging from sports, academics, music, drama, behavior and every other field that singles them out for excellence among their peers.
There was so much excitement in the air because they visited the establishment of one of their ex-student who graduated from the school 20 years ago which happens to be our Managing Director. It was good to see what he had done after 20 years and though he was not around he had briefed staff to welcome the students of his alma mater with open arms. The Rector was highly impressed and said he wouldn’t mind speaking to the Managing director after their visit to make this a constant place of visit every year for their 25 best students in SS3.
The students started the tour of the business in bakery to see how our pastries and how our bread OVEN FRESH BREAD is baked. They moved to the Warehouse where they were lectured on how the warehouse operates and equipment used in the warehouse. They continued the tour by checking the cold room and briefed on its operations after which they were taken to the contact center and were also lectured on how it works and finally to the IT department where all the equipment used for information technology is monitored and placed. There was a question and answer segment for each Business units and the students were very excited and amazed at what they saw and the explanations of how the business works.
After the briefing in each unit we all celebrated the launch of our sister company (478limited) new product Jazzy wine and cheered to the success of the business. The rector appreciated how they were received and was very grateful for the reception. He also called one of the students to give a vote of thanks to the organization which he did while we all merried. Students were glad to have been part of the excursion and they all appreciated the packaged gifts given to each and every one of them as a token from the company.
